A Child’s Introduction to Mammals of Maine
February 9 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pmFREE
A variety of pelts will be available for children to see, touch, and smell. Through a series of physically active simulations we will become acquainted with animal habitats and needs for food, water, shelter, and space. For example, during a variation of “tag” children will experience the predator-prey relationship and benefit to conserve natural environments.
The activities are ideally suited for 6-10 year olds. Special needs children welcome. Teens and parents are encouraged to supervise during the games.
Tomas Dundzila is a Registered Maine Guide and experienced Scout leader who enjoys exploring the outdoors with young people.
This program is free and open to the public.
