New Trails on Schoodic Peninsula

Acadia National Park and Schoodic Institute regularly seek volunteers.  Consider joining this talented, dynamic team of staff and volunteers and make a lasting difference on the Schoodic District of Acadia National Park.

Regular open positions:

New volunteers needed!  With four miles of new hiking trails and 8.5 miles of new biking paths, we need your help with their upkeep.

Visitor Information Assistant at the Schoodic Education and Research Center Gatehouse 

  • Three-hour shifts on occasion or on a regular basis throughout the summer
  • Greet visitors and assist with information about the area

“Green Thumbed Volunteers” to help spruce up Schoodic Education and Research Center gardens

  • Join friendly energetic people in a beautiful coastal outdoor environment and leave long lasting marks of beautification; gain experience landscaping with native plants

Schoodic Peninsula Shoreline Cleanup:

Education Volunteer JoAnn Pippin

Meet at the Frazer Point Picnic area at 9:30 am to sign in and receive a safety brief, trash bag(s), water, etc.  Volunteers are asked to dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes, and bring insect repellent, a hat or sunscreen, and work gloves. Friends of Acadia will provide water to fill or refill personal water bottles, a light snack, and work gloves for those who do not have them.  Please note this event will be canceled in case of inclement weather.
