Thanks to several generous donations, Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park recently acquired its first vessel. Schoodic, a Presto 30, adds a new dimension to Schoodic Institute. Schoodic is a versatile, low-maintenance, shallow-draft sailing vessel capable of carrying six passengers plus captain and crew member.
It provides opportunities for enhancing research and education efforts at Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park by providing access and a marine perspective for researchers or participants in campus programs. It is well suited to access Frenchman Bay and its islands, including nearshore subtidal, littoral, and offshore habitats, as well as coastal bays and harbors along the coast of downeast Maine.
Contact us if you’re interested in the possibility of including one or more excursions on Schoodic during your next visit to Schoodic Institute.
