Ecology Field Technicians: Seasonal positions that will work on an array of monitoring projects and with teams of volunteers. Positions start in May and end in October. Restoration Technicians: Seasonal positions that will work closely with Schoodic Institute scientists and National Park Service staff to remove invasive species, plant native shrubs, restore soil and plants on mountain summits, and monitor multiple ongoing experiments associated with the restorations. Cathy and Jim Gero Acadia Early-Career Fellowships: Through the generous support of Cathy and Jim Gero, the National Park Service, Schoodic Institute, and the National Park Foundation, three fellows will work alongside National Park Service and Schoodic Institute scientists, educators, communicators, and resource managers in Acadia National Park and surrounding areas, including a Science Research Fellow, Science Communication Fellow, and an Environmental Science Education Fellow (see position descriptions below). These are 10-month positions beginning in March 2026, continuing through January 2027. Application deadline is January 6, 2026. Please note that each applicant can apply for only one of the three fellowship opportunities: Science Research Fellowship, Environmental Science Education Fellowship, or Science Communication Fellowship.
